Lori T. Candrian, MS, LPC

A Person-Centered Counseling Approach To Creating Personal Growth

Lori T. Candrian - CopunselorHello and welcome to my web page.  I am excited about the possibility of meeting you in person for counseling services.  I have been in the helping profession my entire professional career.  I started as a head resident for a girl’s dormitory at Texas A&M Commerce (formerly East Texas State University).   I spent eight years with the Gulf Coast Center MHMR providing outpatient individual and group psychotherapy services for adults with chronic mental illness.  I have also provided inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy services at Devereux Texas Treatment Network for the adult and geriatric population.

I established my private counseling practice in 1997.  I enjoy helping preeteens, teens, adults, families, and couples explore their own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences to gain insight, new coping strategies, and a confidence to create positive changes in their personal or professional lives. My goal is that these changes will allow each individual to have a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I have extensive training in mood disorders, stress management, and couples treatment.  I utilize a variety of strategies and counseling techniques to assist each client while working with many important concerns including:

  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Parenting
  • Couples/Marital Counseling
  • Relationship Communication
  • Life transitions and changes
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Work place concerns

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor #10296 since 1990 and I adhere to the rules and regulations of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. The Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors adopts rules and regulations to establish the qualifications and regulate the Practice of Professional Counselors in Texas.
